I ended up sniffling (this series really affects me emotionally, I have no idea why) and coming up with a fanfic idea.So. The Doctor with 'a brand new haircut who swaggers back to his TARDIS and opens it with a snap of his fingers.' Gotta love the Doctor. I can see this guy with a hat. A nice, black, pinstripe hat; brainy specs; and a really long, black leather trenchcoat. Oh yes, I is liking this mental image. =w=And yes, I am a full supporter of the fact that River Song is the Doctor's future wife.

But not really a supporter of the River Song = murderer of the Doctor theory, however. We'll have to see, hm? (and fffffft series 5 finale get here sooner)Doctor Who (c) BCCNext Stop, EverywhereThe TARDIS materializes in the exact same spot he parked her ages ago. He walks, through bustling but quiet hallways, to the center of the Library. He travels down, deep into the bowels of the planet. He finds the spot where his Tenth recreation watched her die and then he finds the place where Ten moved her body. She's still there, as the incident happened only days previous. It's cold down in the center of the Library, so her body has yet to start to decay.

He traces a finger down her jawline, revealing in the beauty of the woman he has come to love and trust with his life.' Oh god, River, I'm sorry,' he whispers as he takes in every detail of her fair, soot-stained face. 'I'm so, so incredibly sorry.' He leans down and kisses her stone-cold forehead, then rummages in pockets that are bigger on the inside. He pulls out a folded sheet and drapes it over her after looking her over one last time, concealing her face from view with a single sheet of cotton. The man slips a ring off his finger, places it on her chest and stands. He retrieves his old sonic screw driver from where he put it years, eons, millennia, days ago and slips the bronze device inside his pocket.

Then he turns and nods at the head node. 'Take care of her.' He leaves, up to the main level, through bustling hallways and snaps his fingers as he enters the atrium. The TARDIS doors snap open and he walks inside them. They close briskly behind him and he walks up to the console.'

Let's go somewhere,' he whispers. 'Next stop, everywhere.' He sets coordinates, pulls a lever, and the TARDIS dematerializes, taking her pilot away from the Library, through time and space. The Doctor is going home.
