Difficult to understand for newbie star star star starborder starbordercookiebreath's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 9/4/18 3:55 PMThe game is fun and somewhat addictive however needs some help. When you provide occasional free “extras” it makes people play games more.to the developers “gambling” is addictive because “sometimes” you win and the fact you don’t win every time makes it addictive. Therefore some games give free boosts randomly to improve the number of hours you play the game.why don’t you try this?
Also the arrows flashing in the background are annoying and confusing. Is there something I’m supposed to watch in the middle of the game? Or is it just a flaw?
Also some of the games on the app tally the final score before the last ball has exited the game board, which makes me think my score was predetermined.please fix that also, and get rid of the START screen. If we pushed the replay button we get that it is the start and as a newbie I kept pushing the start thinking I needed to and then inadvertently set off my ball(s). It’s just how free games are able to be free and should be expected. The actual game play is great if you enjoyed the old style Breakout games. You release a series of b. at bricks with various numbers on them. Each hit drops the number until it reaches zero and the brick is destroyed. After the b.
do their destruction and return to the bottom, the remaining bricks drop down one level. And repeat. You can earn different special features, from instantly reducing the numbers on all bricks or increasing the number of b.
for one turn or removing the bottom row of bricks entirely. The other two I don’t use as often places four or ^v on the board (which depending on the way they are aimed, hitting them with a ball will trigger a beam that lowers all bricks in the path) and one that places a barrier on the very bottom (opposite where the b.
get released) that will make it so the b. can stay in action longer (for one round). My only issue comes from some of the levels.
They are clearly set up to be impossible without the special features. And lots of them! It’s become frustrating enough for me to write this and rate it 3 rather than 5. The game is actually a very interesting variation of classic breakout. The core idea is that you have bricks that take X number of hits to break (like 45, but it varies) and you have a whole bunch of balls, but no paddle. So you aim once and then tap, and the b. go out in a stream, bouncing and destroying, until all the b.
come back to the bottom. The animation is accelerated as b. return so you don’t have to wait forever for the final ball. THEN, all the bricks descend one slot, and then you aim again. Like in Space Invaders, you have to destroy the bricks before they reach the bottom.Interesting idea, and hopefully someday a programmer with some taste and less money desperation will implement a clean aesthetic version. If I had a nickel for every time my shots went to a place that I was not aiming at I would be a wealthy man right now. The best part is it only happens when you are trying to make a very precise shot, only then does the aiming mechanism make certain to mislead you into believing that you are shooting at location x, but the ball goes toward location slightly to the left or right of X. If it keeps it up, I will delete it. Just waaaaaay too many ads star star starborder starborder starborderNataliec1227's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/4/18 9:59 AMThis game is super fun. However, there are so many ads it’s annoying to play. Most of them are 30 seconds long.
In the higher levels every move you make counts, so if you mess up the first one and restart you could be hit with an add for every replay. That means you could play for 10 seconds before being hit with a 30 second add. Ads shouldn’t come for resets, only for new levels. You can play with no ads for money but if I’m being honest this is the kind of game you play when you are killing time (I play on breaks at work) and most of that time is ads. It’s not the type of game I would be willing to pay for as I’ll probably forget about it after a few weeks anyways. Many recent improvements make this 5 stars star star star star starDuck Step's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/4/18 2:17 PMThe developer has been listening to the reviews and made a huge number of improvements recently that made this previously unplayable game really fun and challenging. The ads are completely manageable now that there is a reasonably priced ad removal package.
The difficulty balance has been improved greatly by daily rewards. An effective amount of gems can now easily be obtained for free by playing classic mode and 100 ball, although I do find 100 ball to be fairly repetitive. The game itself has always been fun with good controls and a huge number of challenging but beatable levels, and I enjoy trying to get 3 stars on every level. Now that the ads and bonuses are sane, it really is a lot of fun, and I don’t mind sliding a few ad-removal bucks to an active developer who reads reviews, especially for a game that has helped me k. so much time on the bus.
Don’t pay for ad free, it’s not! Star starborder starborder starborder starborderIHateReviews's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/3/18 7:02 PMWas getting tired of the ads popping up after every round so I paid to stop seeing the ads. Yet they still advertise THEIR OWN GAME! Now it keeps asking if I want Diamond Membership.
Also the option to restart the current game switches every 5-6 restarts. Where the restart button normally is, a video ad icon sneaks it’s way in. The game itself is fun and challenging, but it doesn’t ask to rate the game.
It asks to rate the app. To many ads star star starborder starborder starborderprimer71's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/3/18 5:26 PMThis game is fun but you get bombarded with ads. I get ads pay for things. But, There is a constant scroll at the top of the screen. Play one level and if you win you get to sit through a 30 second ad and then move on to the next level and do it again. That’s the way it is after every level. At least give two to three levels before you bombard us with more ads.Done with this game.
I’m sure there is another out there that’s similar without so many ads I can waste my time on. Too many ads star starborder starborder starborder starborderMoosenbratsmommy's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/3/18 2:38 AMThe game is extremely fun!
But there is an ad after every play and if you hit the ‘home’ button you get another and ‘play’ will get you yet another! I also think a replay button would be nice after each round because if you don’t get 3 stars and want to replay that round- ad-home-ad-play! And I’d rather not play than give up 2.99 to remove ads!Update: at first the ads were skippable after a few seconds, now you’re forced to sit through a full 30 second ad!
It’s extreme. The game play deserves 5 stars minus.5 for not having a replay button but instead they get ONE STAR. 30 Second ads before each game star star starborder starborder starborderCrazyMarmot's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/3/18 2:27 AMGreat game, but I am uninstalling it because WAY too many ads! There is an ad before each game. One fun game is 1 shot with 100 balls, try to get as many bricks as you can. Fun for 20 seconds then a 30 second ad! Same 10 ads over and over again.
Some ads are only a screenshot and you can tap X right away. But then you get a 20 ads in a row that are 30 seconds each time. Addictive gamer star star starborder starborder starborderonly 1of7 dwarfs is happy's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/29/18 2:33 AMThe game is very addictive and challenging, which is great! But ads are plentiful, don’t know what all the daily uses are going to do( they need to be better marked), and as for the gems, I rarely get to use them, because with an iPad my fingers tend to hit the reset button (bottom right corner) which causes me to lose gems when I was happy with the play I had just made. Move that button to the top of the page. I could tolerate the ads, but will not pay any money as long as the other 2 issues exist! Star starborder starborder starborder starborderCDLucy's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/29/18 2:28 PMThis game is fun but I’m constantly hitting one of the “helper” items at the bottom when trying to shoot the balls.
It’s annoying that there isn’t a prompt “are you sure you want to do this?” It wastes the rubies you try to save to get the additional shooters. Annoying!!!Also please quit asking me after every loss/level win if I want to buy your packages. I already paid to remove the ads that were out of control. This is getting rather irritating as well. Constantly need to restore purchases star starborder starborder starborder starborderLiz.xoxo's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/29/18 11:39 PMI bought the year subscription to get no adds and the golden aim. However I have to “restore purchases” every single time I open the game for my purchases to apply. Otherwise I have no golden aim etc.
I don’t always have reception so if I try to play in an area with no reception I can’t restore my purchases which means I don’t get the aim etc. So what is the point of paying the money for the subscription. It’s useless and I want my money back. Fun and challenging, but. Star star star starborder starborderJaxx Berserker's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/25/18 6:45 AMI enjoy it, but I really wish I could play Spotify and YouTube in the background.
Really frustrating. Also, made an impulsive call and spent the $5 on golden aim. Isn’t working, and haven’t seen anything to do with it, don’t even know really what it’s supposed to be exactly. I feel like you could describe it in the many updates there have been, but oh well. I like the game enough to buy it, but nothing. Please fix it, it’s only five bucks, but come on.
Basically robbery.Playing on iPhone 6s if that helps. Game is fine but the ads hurt it badly star star star starborder starborderOh! That Guy's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/25/18 3:10 AMIn a world where there’s a million apps to play the same 3 game (lookin at you Bejeweled) this game is unique and fun.
People who were fond of Bust a Move will enjoy it.It lost a star because it does lack a bit in level design and special effects. Most importantly, it lost another star due to the ridiculous amount of ads. They play in a banner during gameplay (sometimes slowing down the frame rate), then 2 play after almost every level. I even had one pop up just for tapping the home button after losing.
I would’ve deleted a less fun game. Fun until it crashes when you’re about to win star starborder starborder starborder starborderKatherinep1's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/22/18 7:10 PMI can deal with the ads, but I wouldn’t recommend paying for this game. I don’t want to buy a game that often crashes right before beating a level. Three times this has happened, always on an especially difficult level that I’ve used rubies on and was close to beating. When this happens the rubies are not restored. If they could fix that it would be a fun game, but the disappointment ruins it for me.
Fun but also very frustrating star star star starborder starborderNavynick99's Review of Bricks N Balls Reviewed on 8/21/18 7:31 PMI really like this game however when I lose a level it gives the option to break 3 layers with a play button that looks just like the button you have to hit to restart the game after pausing. I keep hitting it by accident, and it uses up a bunch of my jewels which I’m trying to save for a better ball but I can ever get there because I keep losing the jewels. If this doesn’t change I will prob stop playing and delete the game because I really want to upgrade my balls.
The five power-ups all have different, effective uses that can help you beat the tougher levels in the game. The first one is Quake, which destroys a random number of blocks on the screen. The second one is Ray, which places 4 ray tiles (the tiles that send out a laser beam to the left and right when you hit them). The third one is Remove, which clears out the entire bottom line of bricks. The fourth one is Add Balls, which adds a significant number of balls for one turn. The fifth is Iron Blocks, which layer the bottom of the screen with five iron blocks for one shot.Oftentimes, unless you have a bunch of slanted bricks on the level, one of the most effective ways to clear everything out is to aim the ball to the lowest/most horizontal trajectory possible, and then fire.
Balls will often bounce up the side of the formation, bouncing rapidly off of bricks and walls and destroying them extremely quickly. One of the best uses for this is later on in the level, when all of the slanted bricks are cleared out.You can change the game to day mode or night mode, depending on when you’re playing and what color palette you like better.
During a game, tap on the sun/moon icon at the top of the screen. If the game is in night mode, tap the sun icon to brighten up the colors. If it’s in day mode, tap the moon icon to darken the colors and make it easier on the eyes.Another way to get more balls is to hit pause, then go to the button that says “+3” and click it. Once you tap it, a thirty-second ad video will play. You will only get three balls from this, but sometimes, three balls is enough to knock out one or two shots worth of bricks, allowing you to easily score a higher point total. In the settings area, there is a Gift Center, where you can input gift codes and receive a free gift. Mostly, this is used for things such as bonuses and refunds provided directly by the developers. Keep up with the game on social media and on Game Center/Google Play, though, for a chance to find gift codes in Bricks N Balls.Every time that you log in, you get a free daily gift.
You can choose to use a video reward to double the quantity of the gift, as long as you have a data connection. If you choose to simply collect the gift without a video, but then change your mind and want to double it later, go back to the daily check in menu and the video will still be available, and will double your previous reward when you finish watching it.
