You can use the masonry trap to kill and delay them, if they are inside the shimmering oil vapour you can ignite it with either fire spell for bonus damage and the fire will linger doing damage to anything in it or crossing it.How I did it on hard:-I split the party 2 going the top route, 2 the bottom. I had Cas race to that first chest in the first turn, then had her and Zaub position themselves past the oil. Along the top route are a lot of the masonry scaffolds which I used to kill the bounty hunters following, nabbing the chests as they past them. They kinda meet in the middle and split again, grabbing that middle chest. I ran the dwarf up the top and round to grab the final chest, again used the scaffold but I missed;) I just had to sprint him into the endzone to finish up while the others killed off a couple of the bounty hunters who had managed to follow.

Jan 16, 2015  Blackguards 2, is a tactical role-playing game for Microsoft Windows and OS X. It was developed by German game developer Daedalic Entertainment, makers of adventure games like The Whispered World.

Took a couple tries to get all the chests but quite doable even on hard. I hope the posts helped you. Yes the first game was very hard.

I had to stop and go to youtube a couple times to get to certain points. I never do that unless I have to. I got stuck so bad and I thought the same thing as you. Am I missing something? It just takes practice to get the hang of it. Also sometimes(alot) there will be things in the invironment that will help you out big time.

I havent played the second Blackguards yet. But if its like the first dont give up.

Its worth it to stick with it. It gets better. The map mentioned in this topic has a few flamable gas cloud, a good number of collapsable tents, boxes you can push over, bear traps, narrow bridges you can use strategically. So there were multiple ways to approach this map, i liked it. I didnt even use the gas clouds, and instead focused on the tents and knocking them down.

But i could have potentially used the clouds well. I mean, I'm fine with environs I just like multiple options and giving players a chance to figure out multiple means of completing a map.

So your description sounds promising.BG2's on my wish list for sure. I just truly had a love/hate relationship with the first game - I think ultimately I didn't finish it after putting more than 50 hours into it. The hate was starting to stifle the love, so to speak.:-) I definitely recall various BG maps where I'd feel like I was on the cusp of completing a long map and realize, 'Well. Have to start over.'

The love was that sometimes I'd be so addicted to the gamplay, I couldn't stop playing. I had a truly biopolar relationship with BG.:). Originally posted by:BG2's on my wish list for sure. I had a truly biopolar relationship with BG.:)i felt the same way about the first game. I put over 50 hours into the game, it pulled me right in, i loved lots of little things about it. And it also frustrated me like crazy.

Reviewed by playing a on September 22, 2017Blackguards 2 is also available for. After being out for a couple years on PC, Daedalic Entertainment's latest turn-based strategy RPG is finally available for consoles. Blackguards 2 features epic battles in an undeniably old-school world but is it adapted well from the PC version?

Looks like someone already destroyed the place before we showed upBlackguards 2 is the sequel to The Dark Eye: Blackguards. Unfortunately, console-only gamers haven't had the opportunity to enjoy the first game yet although Blackguards: Definitive Edition is on its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime down the road. It's strange when the sequel arrives first but after playing Blackguards 2, I can easily say that I'm impressed and looking forward to trying out the original. Hopefully, it arrives soon.If you've ever played a turn-based strategy RPG then Blackguards 2 will be a very familiar experience. One of its most unique elements is that you move your party members through the battlefields via hexagons as opposed to squares. Poker night at the inventory tf2 items. I found that this opened up the movement options and made it feel more like Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits as opposed to more classic games in the genre such as.

Anyway, the battles have various win and lose conditions so you'll sometimes need to run for your life while other times, you'll have to defeat every single foe. Unleashing a variety of magic spells and attacks in order to thin out the horde of enemies is super-satisfying as the gameplay is tight, intuitive, and gets very challenging. Ducats, Silver Thalers, and Farthings. Why not just 'gold'?After playing so many RPGs, it takes a lot for a story to get my attention. Therefore, the fact that the plot of Blackguards 2 had me engaged from start to finish is a substantial achievement. Basically, you play as a woman named Cassia who is thrown into an underground dungeon.

There, she's greeted by plenty of spiders that she's initially scared of but after one continuously bites her in her sleep, she begins to go insane and befriends the spider as its poison slowly alters both her appearance and mental stability. Eventually, she escapes and the main portion of the campaign begins. At this point, Cassia ruthlessly conquers areas of the world map while meeting a few allies and making decisions that often result in dastardly consequences. Her rage reminded me of Velvet from but the story here is far more twisted and dark. In the end, it's engaging stuff that'll keep you wondering what'll happen next.Blackguards 2 certainly crafts a gorgeous world complete with detailed hub areas and intricately rendered battle maps. However, one aspect of the visuals that could have been handled better is the character portraits.

I may be spoiled from playing so many JRPGs which usually feature memorable artwork but there's no denying that the characters here are all far too static and expressionless to create a lasting impression. That being said, the audio is fantastic with stirring orchestral music, visceral sound effects, and a talented voice cast that almost make up for the subpar character art.

Overall, it's a great looking and sounding SRPG that's hauntingly immersive. Some enemies may look intimidating but they fall twice as hardOne aspect of SRPGs that has to be adequately multifaceted is party setup and progression.

Thankfully, you can spend a decent chunk of time optimizing your party in Blackguards 2. Each character can have multiple weapon loadouts that you can switch between which allows you to take advantage of a variety of situations presented in each battle. As you progress, you'll acquire plenty of money and AP that you can spend on making your party more capable. Money is redeemed for weapons and items while AP can be used to enhance weapon proficiency, unlock passive boosts known as Talents, increase base stats, and learn a variety of spells and attacks. Distributing these points as best as you can is so involving and rewarding that it's easy to forget that you don't actually level up.On the other hand, setting up your party can be clunky and it takes a while to get used to. This is primarily due to the fact that the interface hasn't been fully optimized for console. As you tinker around in the menus, it's hard not to wish that you had a mouse as that would make it much easier.

Even after you get accustomed to navigating the interface, there are still plenty of annoyances while setting up your party. For example, equipping a weapon involves flipping through multiple pages and comparing stats requires far too much manual effort. Trust me, if there was a button to optimize equipment, I would have used it regularly. Let's hang him just for the fun of watching the life drain from his beady little eyes.Blackguards 2 presents a dark and engaging tale that's sure to haunt you even after you put it down. When you factor in the rewarding and challenging SRPG gameplay, you're left with a must-have game for those looking to put their tactical abilities to the test. Maciejewski (crazyaejay): Thanks for reading my review of Blackguards 2. Feel free to ask any questions about the game or provide feedback and I'll gladly reply.Jbumi: I'm only about 15 hours in, but I'm LOVING this game!!

After the disappointing God Wars, this is like a breath of fresh air! I really like that, so far, about half the maps are not 'defeat every enemy to win'. I enjoy the fact I have to actually strategize my actions. Without spoiling anything, did you play bad or good?

I've been freeing my prisoners & won't let Faramar & his mercenaries raid subjugated towns or kill needlessly. I don't know if this is just an issue with my download, but the most annoying thing I've found is that when you're comparing a piece of equipment, the comparison info stays the same for each character. I have to leave the box & go back in to get the correct info.

Still, so far a super game that I'd recommend to any TRPG fan!A.J. Nicktoons basketball unlockables. Maciejewski (crazyaejay): Yes, the variety of missions is just awesome!

I played mostly good but if there was a character that I didn't like then I'd have him killed just for the lols. Comparing equipment is definitely annoying. I hope they patch it and make the info more reliable and easily accessible. What disappointed you about God Wars?

I thought that game was pretty great except for the linearity of it and the graphics were pretty lame. Anyway, Blackguards 2 is a super game and I hope it becomes popular and that we get to play Blackguards: Definitive Edition on PS4 sometime soon!Jbumi: My biggest issue with God Wars was how generic it was. More than half the time I had to keep reminding myself that this was a new game - I kept feeling as if I'd played it before! It's what I classify as a 'one & done' game - I finished it & have no desire to ever play it again. Meanwhile, I keep thinking about different tacts I'm going to take on my next play-through of Blackguards 2!!!A.J. Maciejewski (crazyaejay): I can see that.

God Wars definitely feels familiar, especially if you played a lot of PS1-era SRPGs. That's something that I like about it but it's also very 'been there, done that'. Blackguards 2 is fresh and exciting for non-PC gamers. I really want to play the Definitive Edition of the first game.Jbumi: '.especially if you played a lot of PS1-era SRPGs.' That I did!!A.J.

Maciejewski (crazyaejay): I figured as much! Best time for SRPGs as far as I'm concerned.
