All American Football » Coin Op An American football arcade game released by Leland in 1989. One of the main differences between it, and its predecessor, John Elway's Team Quarterback is that it was the first (and possibly, only coin-op game to allow users to select from a list of 'college' teams in addition to 'pro' teams representing the 26 cities/regions which had NFL teams at the time. It is also the only game in the series to allow users to purchase power-up items such as 'beef' (for boosting the offensive line) and 'go juice' (for a second wind on long gains) from a 'sideline shop' during the game. Times Played: 2620 Released: 1989 Keywords: Football, Sports | woodfordy 52 | Personal Best: N/A

Missiles are used to destroy ground enemies, while laser-like weapons are used for aerial opponents. Throughout each of the levels, the player must fight off waves of enemies that threaten several space stations and a boss must be defeated at the end of each. Like most early games in this genre, when the player dies, all weapons are lost and the player is moved to a point slightly before the point of death. The player's craft can also be upgraded to have more powerful weapons by picking up various power-ups throughout the level. Altered Beast » Coin Op The goddess Athena has been abducted by the Lord of the Underworld. Her father, the great god Zeus, searched for a brave warrior strong enough to save her. He chose a brave warrior who died with honor & courage on the battlefield. Zeus raised the warrior from the grave and granted him the power to morph into a powerful, holy beast in order to do battle against the unspeakable horrors of the Underworld. Altered Beast is a 1-player sideways scrolling beat-em-up. The game begins with the player controlling the human form of the resurrected warrior. During the levels the warrior will be attacked by a number of flashing animals. Destroying these creatures will result in an orb being dropped. If the player picks up an orb, he will begin his transformation from human into 'Beast'. Once 3 orbs have been collected, the transformation is complete. In beast form the player's character is much faster and stronger than in the human form, and also has the ability to throw fireballs at the enemy. At the end of each stage, after the boss fight, the player's special powers are taken from him and he once again reverts to human form. The action in Altered Beast is untypically slow-paced and sedate for a game of this nature, but the game's premise and graphical flair helped to separate it from other rivals of the genre. Alex and Stella from 'Alex Kidd' are declared dead in the first stage of this game (Alex and Stella stones). The small tail swinging gryphon that appears often in this game makes a comeback in 'Golden Axe'. Times Played: 7273 Released: 1988 Keywords: Beatemup, Action, Horizontal Scrolling Series: Altered Beast | Ikaris 563,300 | Personal Best: N/A

The game is time based, and you score a point for each maze you beat faster than your opponent (or the computer player if you are going solo). The graphics are done in monochrome white on black. The maze walls are only a pixel thick, while the characters themselves (simple shapes), are not much bigger. This is one of the first maze games ever produced. They look exactly like the kind of maze you would do with a paper and pen. These mazes have only one correct pathway through them. The mazes never repeat. This throws a third (normal) child into balloons, which when broken reveal items. The third child falls and you must move the angelic children with the rope beneath the falling child to allow the child to bounce again. There are items to collect to score points, while avoiding nasties on your journey up a tree. The tree looks like a beanstalk and as such, the game could be a parody on Jack and the Beanstalk. Anteater » Coin Op The player controls an anteater that elongates his proboscis through maze-like anthills eating ants. The player can only eat ants with the tip of the anteater's proboscis. If an ant bites your proboscis at any other location you lose a life. Pressing the second button will quickly retract the anteater's proboscis. Worms will not harm you unless eaten head first, in which case you lose a life. Worms can be safely eaten from behind. Eating queen ants at the very bottom of the nest will temporarily clear all ants and worms from the screen. Once the sun has travelled accross the screen and night falls, a spider will appear. The spider climbs down the anteater's proboscis, taking a life if it touches the tip. The object is to eat all of the larvae before time runs out, clearing the screen. Each larva is worth 10 points. Each ant is worth 100 points, while eating a worm is worth 200 and multiplies the score you receive from eating ants by 1x (Ex. eating 5 ants +2 worms = 500 x 2 = 1000). Queen ants are worth 1,000. APB All Points Bulletin » Coin Op The object of the game is to meet (or exceed) the daily quota of citing or arresting various types of law-breakers within a time limit for the day. The player is given an overhead view of Officer Bob's patrol car, number 54. The player controls the car with a gas pedal and a steering wheel. The player receives 'demerits' for accidental collisions, running over pedestrians, and failing to make quota. The player gains bonuses for a 'perfect day' and each arrest over the quota. Picking up donuts extends the time limit for a day. Driving through filling stations refuels the patrol car. Driving through the garage(once a day) upgrades the patrol car with brakes, guns, armor, radar, etc. The game begins by having the player ticket common misdemeanor infractors (such as those littering) by pulling up behind them, pushing the siren button and having them pull over. Eventually, the game gives the player the task of arresting fugitive felons. Every other day, starting on the third day, the player can go after an A.P.B. ('All Points Bulletin'). When a fugitive is caught and returned to the station, the player must 'persuade' (i.e., rattle) a confession out of them before the Chief enters the room. This is done by filling the 'Confess-O-Meter' by tapping alternatively on the 'fire' and 'siren' buttons. The game ends when the player reaches his demerit maximum. When the demerit limit is reached, the game shows the player being pulled over and cuffed by other officers with the message 'TOO MANY DEMERITS. YOU ARE FIRED.'
